Saskatoon, SK – May 2025
nîkihk Enviroway Ventures LP is proud to announce its official partnership with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, marking a milestone in the growth of one of Saskatchewan’s most innovative Indigenous-owned brands. This partnership unites two respected community-driven organizations around shared values of sustainability, local economic development, and meaningful reconciliation.
The partnership launch event was attended by dignitaries including BATC CEO Neil Sasakamoose, Chief Lorie Whitecalf, Chief Larry Ahenakew, and Tanya Aguilar-Antiman (Stone).
Speaking at the partnership launch, Chief Tanya Aguilar-Antiman (Stone) reflected on the product’s journey.
“This product has come a long way and we should not be afraid to talk about our (Indigenous) dark history. It's how we are going to move forward. Today is a very historic day. I'm very proud to see where this product has come, and it was designed during a time of crisis (Covid). What I see today is a win-win for not only our BATC Bands, Enviroway, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, but for all of Saskatchewan and Canada.”
Formed in 2023 as a majority Indigenous-owned joint venture between BATC Investments Inc. and Enviroway Manufacturing Inc., nîkihk Enviroway Ventures LP is rooted in community-led innovation. Enviroway, a pioneer in green chemistry since 1987, brought over three decades of scientific expertise and global distribution to the table. Together with BATC’s leadership and Indigenous vision, the company has rapidly scaled its impact and retail reach.
Speaking at the launch event at SMF Saskatoon Minor Football Field, nîkihk CEO Bob Behari emphasized the deeper purpose of this collaboration. “This partnership is about more than business. It’s about creating value together, rooted in local leadership and shared purpose. We’re proud to work with the Saskatchewan Roughriders to take nîkihk to the next level.”
nîkihk and Saskatchewan Roughriders branded products are now available at over 200 retail locations across Saskatchewan and Canada. The expansion is the latest milestone for the company, which has gained significant traction in Canadian markets and online communities, earning thousands of likes and supportive comments across Made in Canada Facebook groups.
“We are proud to welcome Nikihk to the Roughriders family,” said Craig Reynolds, President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. “Their commitment to quality, sustainability, and Indigenous culture aligns with the values we uphold as a team and as a community. This partnership not only strengthens our connection to local businesses but also celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Saskatchewan.”
All scents in the nîkihk product line were selected by First Nations Elders, and the products are manufactured in Saskatchewan using plant-based, biodegradable ingredients. Since the brand’s inception during the early COVID-19 response, it has evolved from distributing tens of thousands of cleaning kits to becoming a retail and community success story.
With national media coverage, retail growth, and increasing recognition, nîkihk continues to set a new standard for what Indigenous-owned business and community-first innovation can look like in Canada.
Thank you to the Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs, Enviroway, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and every one of you here for being part of this journey. Let’s charge forward, inspired by the Roughriders’ passion, for our communities, our province, and generations to come.
